For six years Lakeside has benefited from the immense talents and service of Sally Green as part of our staff team. Prayerful and steady, Sally has contributed much to Lakeside as she faithfully served on staff here. In her administration of the front office, Sally ensured that Lakeside operated in a way that honored God and valued people. From acting as a warm receptionist, to managing contracts, to organizing hospitality for different events, to answering every question under the sun, Sally continuously worked with grace and with diligence, giving Lakeside the best of her every day. Of all the ways Sally has helped advance Lakeside none may be more critical than her commitment to steady leadership, unwavering truth, and warm hospitality.
Sally and her husband, Ed, will be transitioning out of Lakeside due to Ed’s recent employment as the Pastor of Community Action and Christian Education at Beavercreek Christian Church in Beaver Creek, Ohio (a suburb of Dayton, Ohio). We are more than excited to see Ed and Sally flourish in this new opportunity, but we will miss them greatly at Lakeside! We want to show Sally and Ed our appreciation for all they have done for Lakeside, so we are holding a celebratory reception for them on October 29 after second service ends. Feel free to head back to the High School and Junior High rooms after second service to encourage them through your presence, words of affirmation, and gifts. Refreshments and light snacks will be provided , as well as opportunities to hear about the impact Sally and Ed have had here at Lakeside.
As we sought to fill Sally’s role at Lakeside as she transitions off our staff team, we were assessing how we can become more effective and efficient as a staff. With this assessment, we realized that we need someone who can operate and manage the administrative side of life at Lakeside. For this reason, we have hired Lindsey Ruberg, who has been a part of our congregation for the last three years. Lindsey has been actively involved in Lakeside during her time with us, investing in small groups, leading worship, and volunteering in many different facets. With her character and work ethic, we felt that she would be a perfect fit to manage the administrative duties of church life. Lindsey graduated from Western Illinois University with a bachelor’s degree in Music Education. We are so excited to have Lindsey on the team, knowing that the strengths of organization, management, and administration she brings to the table will serve Lakeside well!
Additionally, we are happy to recognize another addition to the team, Kelly Knoll! Kelly volunteers her time graciously at Lakeside, organizing the Cancer Care team, serving as a Guest Care team leader, and helping cover reception and hospitality from time to time. Kelly has been hired on as our Preschool Aide, assisting in the care of kids and families in the preschool on Monday through Friday. We are so grateful to have Kelly and all her skills on board with us at Lakeside!
