Lakeside Staffing Changes

For six years Lakeside has benefited from the immense talents and service of Sally Green as part of our staff team. Prayerful and steady, Sally has contributed much to Lakeside as she faithfully served on staff here. Sally and her husband, Ed, will be transitioning out of Lakeside due to Ed’s recent employment as the Pastor of Community Action and Christian Education at Beavercreek Christian Church in Beaver Creek, Ohio. We are more than excited to see Ed and Sally flourish in this new opportunity, but we will miss them greatly at Lakeside! As we sought to fill Sally’s role at Lakeside as she transitions off our staff team, we were assessing how we can become more effective and efficient as a staff. For this reason, we have hired Lindsey Ruberg, who has been a part of our congregation for the last three years. Lindsey has been actively involved in Lakeside during her time with us, investing in small groups, leading worship, and volunteering in many different facets. With her character and work ethic, we felt that she would be a perfect fit to manage the administrative duties of church life. We are so excited to have Lindsey on the team, knowing that the strengths of organization, management, and administration she brings to the table will serve Lakeside well!Additionally, we are happy to recognize another addition to the team, Kelly Knoll! Kelly volunteers her time graciously at Lakeside, organizing the Cancer Care team, serving as a Guest Care team leader, and helping cover reception and hospitality from time to time. Kelly has been hired on as our Preschool Aide, assisting in the care of kids and families in the preschool on Monday through Friday. Read more

Journey to the Cross

This year we are bringing back Lakeside’s Journey to the Cross event! For those of you who have never experienced or had a hand in creating a Journey to the Cross, here is the big idea behind it: We want to tell the story of Jesus in a creative, experiential fashion, where people can live out the story of Jesus on crucifixion week with all their senses. Lakeside is transformed into the stations of the cross, each room representing a different stage of the crucifixion week. Each room will provide opportunity to experience the journey of Jesus with different senses: sight, smell, touch. For you and others to attend Journey to the Cross, the process could not be simpler! All you must do is go to our website and click on the Journey to the Cross image on the front rotating banner. This will take you to a page where you will see a “register here” button. Simply click on that button and sign up online for the time slot that works best for you to come through and experience Journey to the Cross. Read more
